Degree Structure
The four-year study structure at Computer Science is divided as follows:
Year One
As a Freshman student, you are introduced to basic science courses such as Math,
Physics and Electronics. You select courses from the university requirements in
humanities and also social sciences and explore basic courses in computer programming
to start writing your first computer programs.
Year Two
The second year is structured around advanced courses in Math and Electronics. You
also study computer science courses such as Data Structure, Database and Algorithms
Design.
Department of Computer Science
Year Three
The third year study includes core courses in programming languages such as Java
and Assembly language. You will also study courses in the fields of neural computing,
computer graphics and Software Engineering.
Year Four
In your final year, you will participate in a group graduation project in which
you will design and implement a complete and stand-alone software system based on
your major. A committee consisting of MIU instructors, examiners from governmental
universities and from the University of Nottingham attends and grades your graduation
project and your presentation. The experience you gain during the graduation project
will dramatically improve your knowledge, communication and presentation skills.
Minor
You can select 5 courses as a minor from any faculty in the university.
